ABSTRACTS by Stefan Saalfeld

Stefan Saalfeld tells us more about his latest series and its work process;
"The ABSTRACT series is mostly created with digital tools, but I also use "hand painted" stuff as stencils. The abstract landscapes are a mix and assemblage of very different "materials". Some of them are very new and fast (like the plain colour stripes), others have a long history of being worked over and over again. I'm interested in a complexity and a variety of elements and different textures that are all well known in abstract art, but I give them a kind of weird and even rotten twist... so, its about taking some material and forming something new.
I'm also inspired by the processes of transformation in nature: the constant change of forms and states." See more;
