Visible Structures by nendo



Visible Structures is an installation which will be presented by Tokyo based design studio nendo in the exhibition called "Modern by Design"  at the High Museum of Art in atlanta, next june 4th to august 21st. 
The installation consist in twelve pieces of furniture, including benches, stools, chairs, tables and bookcases, made from foam core that is reinforced with industrial strength carbon tape. 
I find really interesting the simplicity introduced in the decorative part that is at the same time the structure for each piece thanks to the strength carbon tape.  The design for the patterns are influenced by the early abstract paintings of dutch artist Piet Mondrian and the de Stijl movement.  See more;
