Emilie Gervais & Sarah Weis

 ✡_✡ Strawberry from ♡ ♥ Forever Life ♥ ♡ at  Fach and Asendorf Gallery

✧_✧ Emilie Gervais and Sarah Weis have been blinking hard and doing great work together lately. Since they started the ♡ ♥ Blinking Girls ♥ ♡ project, they have been involved in numerous online projects and shows such as an ongoing exhibition at Fach and Asendorf Gallery called ♡ ♥ Forever Life ♥ ♡ which are the hottest GIFs I have ever seen so far, ♡ ♥ Blinking Girls Cave ♥ ♡ show at Apache Projects, and another ongoing show called ≡ ♥ Blinking Frame ♥ ≡ at Caesura Gallery. They tell us all about these projects. See more;

♡ ♥ Blinking Girls ♥ ♡

⭐_⭐ 's first ever real-time online interaction was centered around Tasha, the black haired girl blinking in the Leisure Suit Larry Land of the Lounge Lizards-Trailer (1987) - http://youtu.be/XqXpWJhsuaI. After a lipstick-related chat, girls exploded blinking. http://blinkinggirls.com became the main signifier of the project.

⺥_⺥ ♡ ♥ Blinking Girls ♥ ♡ is requesting blink submissions on http://blinkinggirls.com/submit to expand its collection. Each girl is carefully considered, though some have to go through a cosmetology treatment, and if they make the cut, they are pimped on various websites, most of the time as heavy dickclitting ♡ ♥ Blinking Girls ♥ ♡.
 Future plans are in this body.

♡_♡ When ♡ ♥ Blinking Girls ♥ ♡ can get satisfaction, a blinking loving might occur. *

 ♡ ♥ Forever Life ♥ ♡ at Fach and Asendorf Gallery

∩_∩ presents 8 gifs all based on Jima, a tumblr sex bomb. She was made iconic for this exhibition
because she is an exciting hot shemale who really embodies ♡ ♥ Forever Life ♥ ♡. Breathing heavily right now. The glitch is pure cum, used mainly for its *feeling* while still being consciously used for its concept, aesthetic & genre. It’s all ♡ ♥ Forever Life ♥ ♡. It’s
impossible to reach climax without glitching. Experimented beforehand. (The pieces below and the top one are courtesy Fach and Asendorf Gallery, the first GIF below is an exclusive piece from the same series which hadn't been displayed online yet)

See the whole ongoing exhibition here.

♡ ♥ Blinking Girls Cave ♥ ♡ at Apache Projects

░_░ occurred on July 24th at Apache Projects, an open source exhibition site formerly located in a cave at Mother Neff State Park [Moody, Texas]. The original piece for the show was rejected at the last minute by the local park authorities. Instead, ipads, laptops & iphones were exhibited, displaying different ♡ ♥ Blinking Girls ♥ ♡ accessories. The event’s description as written by Nate Hitchcock, director of Apache Projects, can be found here.

≡ ♥ Blinking Frame ♥ ≡ at Caesura Gallery

⚡_⚡ is a contextualized blink based on http://blinkingsite.com: hijacked ergotherapy, an exponential blinking vortex for a simulated glitter blinking party. The latest tweet from @PimptressObject - ♡ ♥ Blinking Girls ♥ ♡ twitter account - is a description. Pure heavy blinking bb #girls. See here.

Rollin Leonard at Fa-g.org

Screenshot from "Pig Pile", video.

Last wednesday the online gallery Fach and Asendorf founded by Kim Asendorf and Ole Fach, featured a new show called "Rearrangements" by Rollin Leonard. I really like the different basic tools and ways Rollin used to create all the pieces at the exhibition. See more;

Rollin Leonard tells us more about his pieces and their process;
"Pictures of my friends are rearranged by moving pixels around. Groups of pixels are shuffled, made to fill a container, dispersed, and smushed.

The methods for making these animations were fairly crude, using the basic selection tools in Photoshop (some were simple enough that I could have used MS Paint) and simply defined heuristics. For the 'Pig Pile' video I moved the bodies down little-by-little until they hit the floor or were impeded by another stationary pixel. I did this until there was no space between pixels on the vertical axis. The basic rule was: move the pixels down until they run into something.

Like 'Pig Pile,' most of the images are self-decoding except possibly for 'Faro Shuffle, Bethany.' A Faro shuffle, also called perfect shuffle, is a technical feat that card magicians try to master. What I imagined was seeing the side of the deck with an image printed on it -- rows of pixels as the edges of cards. When the deck is arranged in the default position out of the box it would show the complete image of Bethany. As you shuffle the image would scramble but eventually, since the shuffle is perfect, it returns to the original arrangement. This was something I wanted to see that my mind's eye was having trouble picturing.

The outliers might be the 'Disappear' gif animations. The technique used to create them was a more complicated, automated process -- peeling away one layer of pixels at a time and scattering them along crisscrossing paths."

Flowpi by Jonathan McCabe

Days ago I attended the Flowpi exhibition by Jonathan McCabe at Fach and Asendorf Gallery, that was when I discovered the hallucinogenic and organic world that McCabe creates by writing his own software.  Then I searched more about his work and specially about the Flowpi series and I found on his vimeo account these awesome landscapes moving and growing up! I couldn't resist to ask him a little bit about the process of, see below what Jonathan told us about his Flowpi series;

"The Flowpi series was made using software that I wrote myself. It is a product of two processes. One is a simple flow like a 2 dimensional compressible fluid, which mixes up the colours and blends everything together, but also makes sharp edges where there is a kind of shock front. The other process is one of differentiation based on the Turing instability, which produces coloured lines and dots, and also a force acting on the motion of the fluid, stirring it up." - Jonathan McCabe

We'll Be Right Back! by Max Capacity

I don't know how many animated gifs I saw on tumblr from Max Capacity, I think thousands!!
I'm pleased to announce another great and ongoing exhibition at Fach & Asendorf Gallery called "We'll Be Right Back!", an animated gif series of Itchy and Scratchy created by Max Capacity. I just posted 5 gifs but you can see the complete series of 15 pieces at Fach & Asendorf Gallery, see here.
Max made the images to ZX Spectrum graphic contstraints and post-processed them after that. And he added that Itchy and Scratchy should have their own show or at least a DVD compilation. Max do it please!! :) See more;

Realigning My Thoughts On Jasper Johns by JK Keller

"Realigning My Thoughts On Jasper Johns" by JK Keller is a great glitched work which is  part of an ongoing exhibition at Fach & Asendorf Gallery where you can see the project presented in a 9 screen grid and adjust the volumes and video, see here.

JK Keller told us interesting info about the amazing distorted process;
"The original video is Simpsons season 10, episode 19, "Mom and Pop Art". I ripped all the frames, then used software to turn the ripped images into vectors. Then I processed the files through Illustrator using the default Alignment & Distribution tools (23 different combinations). The resulting files were then brought back together for the 23 final videos. " See more;

"With the audio, I used a similar process, making a spectrogram image of the audio from each cut in the episode. Then I applied a variety of processes to the image to mimic the alignment/distribution used. Then took the resulting image and turned it back into audio.
The project is intended to be shown as an installation of a 9 screen grid. Viewers would be able to adjust dials and switches to adjust volumes & video sources to create their own juxtapositions of the 23 videos."

"Interested in the incorrect use of default software tools and how they can be used to generate new forms, and the absurdity that results between default digital manipulation and purposeful manual influence." - JK Keller

The following video is meant as an introduction to the project.
