Gamut Warning by Jordan Tate

Denny Gallery presented few weeks ago the first solo gallery exhibition in New York City of Jordan Tate, titled Gamut Warning and running till next October 20, 2013.

"Jordan Tate’s work represents a shift away from the understanding of photography as mechanical reproduction and an acknowledgement of the image-maker as the mediator of sight. Tate explores process and practice in contemporary visual culture. His work is based in ongoing research/meta-photographic critique concerning the visual and conceptual processes of image comprehension." - Denny Gallery. See more;

"The exhibition will include a selection of recent work by Jordan Tate, notably featuring New Work #150 (Gamut Warning), 2012. Gamut Warning consists of three distinct iterations: 24 color photographs, a large-run newsprint artist’s book, and a PDF e-book. He uses the different forms of image delivery to examine how images are created, produced and viewed. His work often focuses on the technologies and physical practice of making photographs. In Gamut Warning, for example, we see lights, color reference cards, human hands setting things up and arranging subjects, color gradients, slide holders and a machine vision camera. The works in the exhibition question the institutional authority behind our understanding of images and suggest that authorship, medium and context, rather than the reality of an image’s referent, have the greatest influence on what we understand from an image." - Denny Gallery

Grand Theft Auto IV - Google Street view

Now you can cruise the seedy streets of Grand Theft Auto IV's take on Liberty City from the comfort and safety of your web browser, thanks to the efforts of GTA's most dedicated fans and some 80,000 screen shots.

"All roads are covered, except for a few on/off-ramps that weren't very interesting," writes Adam from GTA4.net. "There's around 3,000 separate panoramas which were stitched together from almost 80,000 in-game screenshots (captured with a script) and the final set of tiles consist of over a million images." See more;

I read around town there are some hidden Easter Eggs scattered throughout the city, I'm curious to know what kind of. In my opinion I think is more nice to see these kind of Easter Eggs on the real life, like in the Jon Rafman's http://9-eyes.com/ where you can see mesmerizing and bizarre situations around the world via Google maps Street View.

Magistral Cabinet by Sebastian Errazuriz

The New York based artist and designer Sebastian Errazuriz has designed his latest cool project called Magistral Cabinet with 80,000 bamboo skewers, they act as a protective armor, safely holding one's personal belongings within. The doors and openings within the storage unit are concealed, and can be slid open to reveal its inner mechanisms.

Over the span of 6 weeks, 12 woodworkers engaged in an obsessive and labor intensive process to construct the furniture object. Each skewer was individually hammered into the previously carved wooden structure. See more;

Magistral Cabinet is currently on show as part of Errazuriz's solo exhibition 'Beautiful Premonitions' on show at Cristina Grajales Gallery.

Study for Metropolis

Small sculptures composed of photographs of modern buildings in New York. Photographs of a building are taken from several viewpoints and cut along the shape of perspective. Then the cut pieces are connected to other pieces so that three dimensional structures are created using the shape as it appeared in the photographs.
