Nicholas Bohac

Nicholas Bohac is a San Francisco based mix media artist, originally from Omaha, Nebraska. Bohac says us a little of his life and his colored and abstract pieces;

"I'm married to my awesome wife, Kim, and we have two cats and one Roomba vacuuming robot. I used to play bass and tour with a punk band from Omaha, Caught in the Fall, and I'll be having a solo show at the Bemis Underground this spring.

As for my work, I've been focusing on creating landscapes that show the intersection of where people have been and where nature begins. In the past, I've thought of the process almost like I'm creating a flattened diorama, using mixed media, painting and collage to compose the imagery. The new work that will go up at the Bemis in a few months is going to be more vibrant and show a little more contrast, and visual and simple representations of fractals are going to be a lot more prevalent and obvious in the work. There will also be a narrative focus the idea of a disintegrating and exploded landscape, brought on by geologic and human interactions with our surroundings." See more;
