Neil Montier

Neil Montier is a London born visual artist who studied at the London College of Communication. He uses photography and elements of graphics to create places that sit somewhere between the reality and fiction.

"My manipulation removes as many signs that indicate a time or place, leaving a scene that could be 50 years in the passed or in the present. My intention is to give the viewer a sense of uneasiness as time and location become lost in the absence of signs.The inspiration in my work comes from a range of different sources including traditional landscape photography, Science/Dystopian cinema, unbuilt architecture, graphic design, animation to maps and grids." (Esp) Neil Montier es un artista visual nacido en Londres, estudió en la London College of Communication. Utiliza la fotografía y los elementos gráficos para crear lugares que vagan entre la realidad y la ficción.

"Mi manipulación elimina muchos aspectos que determinan un tiempo o lugar, dejando una escena que podría tratarse de 50 años hacía atrás o ser perfectamente el presente. Mi intención es dar al espectador una sensación de malestar, pierdiendo la ausencia de signos en el tiempo y lugar. La inspiración en mi trabajo viene de fuentes diferentes, incluyendo la fotografía de paisajes tradicionales, cine de ciencia/distópica , la arquitectura no construida, diseño gráfico, animación de mapas y redes."
