Compressed is a video series by designer Kim Pimmel that looks at the beauty of natural forces in everyday objects and materials. For the first of the series, Kim used magnets to manipulate ferrous printer toner particles floating on the surface of water. The process was captured using a macro lens and time lapse equipment. The visualization of magnetic patterns and motions that result are strangely ordered and organized.
