Great painting series called Unmoorings by Bogdan Luca. I really liked his abstract painting way as well as his other series called "2007 and 2008" which Luca expresses his abstract style on several portraits.
Luca tell us about his creative process;
"In general, my work is about making sense of the world of images and particularly digital images. I work from digital images that I collect from the internet, movies, television and I then combine into new images that suggest a reality that is unstable and therefore open to interpretation. Even if we all witness the same event, we have to each interpret it according to our personal vocabulary or world view. " See more;
"The coordinates of reality are always in flux and never more so than in the case of the visual. I try to give the sense of the source of the image, often through the cool palette of the electronic screen or media artifacts like pixellation, blurs, double exposure, etc.
I like to work with some recognizable figures or structures that emerge from an abstract ambiguous world of paint and colour as a metaphor for the emergence of meaning. Also, I like my images to be both paintings in the sense of material, texture, paint (abstract) and illusionistic: they are at times more or less realistic or recognizable."
