Esta instalación denominada 334 m / s (2007) creada por Carsten Nicolai tiene la intención de visualizar la velocidad del sonido, que está sobre los 334 m / s. Dos tubos translúcidos están llenos de gas propano. Se prendió fuego para causar una reacción en cadena, una llama arde de un lado a otro, acelera lentamente hasta tocar el extremo del tubo, debido a la proporción de la mezcla de gas-oxigeno la llama produce una explosión rápida, que puede ser escuchado como una explosión sónica.

334 m/s is a room installation, which is meant to visualize the speed of sound, which is about 334 m/s. Two translucent tubes are filled with propane gas, which is set on fire to cause a chain reaction. A flame is burning from one side to the other, slowly accelerating to the point where it hits the end of the tube. Due to the ratio of the gas-oxygene mix the flame there causes a rapid explosion, which can be heard as a sonic boom.
